215 West 2nd Ave- Social and Supportive Housing

Located along the southern boundary of Olympic Village, this City of Vancouver Social Housing Initiative project follows the sustainability and planning guidelines for both the Southeast False Creek Neighbouhood and BC Housing's guidelines for social housing. The landscape strategy is to create an environment for the residents that meets their needs of comfort, stability, durability, and legibility. The Worksyard theme, developed by the City of Vancouver to establish character, has been expressed through the creative use of robust materials such as metal siding, heavy timber, and deck patterned paving. Sustainable measures include rain water harvesting, rain gardens and the use of drought tolerant plant material.
